Does its job very, very well. When I got my new laptop, I realized that I hadn't thought about losing the camera cover on my old one. He was there so long ago I didn't even think about it. As soon as I got my new computer, every time I sat down I felt like this camera was an eye tracking my every move. (If you're thinking "Too paranoid?” the answer is YES, I felt ridiculously paranoid.) About my photo: The cover is black, not gray or faded. I had trouble showing the cover in my photos as the border of my laptop is also black. So I shined a bright halogen light on it, making it appear brighter than it really is. (The bright light also illuminated every tiny speck of dust, so I felt a bit embarrassed to post the photo.) My old cover was given away for free at a conference a few years ago, so I had no idea what type/brand it was acted . it was. I used the sticker as a temporary eye patch while checking out the many webcam cases here on Revain. My god, of course there is a wide choice! I narrowed the list down to two styles and ordered both. When I got my hands on them and saw how well they work, this one was a clear winner. I took some rubbing alcohol and rubbed where it was supposed to be, let it dry and then attached this baby. It's been there for over a month and just as reliable as my old one. It's tight and the sliding lid hasn't moved an iota so my eye can't see what I'm doing at all.
