Review on Plus Size Mid Rise 10" Inseam Pull On Bermuda Shorts With Pockets by Irene Bra

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Classy-looking shorts, yoga-short comfort

As a woman who inherited the family hips and thighs, I have always liked longer shorts for their ability to limit chafing; this was true even when I was in high school, when high-waisted jeans were in style the last time around. I also inherited my mother's classic dress sense; she taught us to love timeless pieces that are always flattering and never truly out of style instead of following all the trends. And since I've been building a capsule wardrobe that focuses on navy for most of the basics, plus charcoal, white, lake blue, and fuchsia as accents.these were an instant order when they were offered for review and available in my size. (In charcoal, since I bought navy Bermudas last year.)I'm pleased with them, though my measurements put me in one size for the waist and another for the hips; since I'm currently losing weight, I ordered the smaller size with the expectation that it might mean the pockets pull slightly for a couple of months. They do, by under an inch, but that means they won't be pulling by the end of summer if I continue the progress I've been making, and should still fit fairly well next year (if a bit loose). And the style is simple enough that I could take them in if I decide I can't bear to part with them; while I don't expect them to last decades like some of my mother's investment pieces, I also don't expect to be at a size in 3 years where they'll still fit without major modifications, though I think the fabric would last at least 5-6 years with weekly wear in season). The fabric is a good mid-weight woven with a little bit of stretch and a slightly silkier feel like you get with nylon. The length is great, just an inch or two above my knees. The front pockets are big enough for a small wallet and my cell phone, though nothing beyond that.and I'm more likely to be carrying a purse if I'm wearing these anyway, so they don't need to be huge. The back pockets are definitely large enough for a phone, if you prefer to keep yours there. And the cut is comfortable like yoga pants or bike shorts, even though the fabric is a little more dressy. They're my perfect summer shorts for a casual date on a hot day.

Pros
  • Super sleek and comfortable
Cons
  • The price point is too high for the quality of the shorts, making them not worth the investment
