Works well. I hooked it up to a 7500w Harbor Freight Generator to keep track of runtime. I opened up the power panel on the generator and connected the wires to the generator's 12v outlet so that the hour meter was always powered by 12v when the generator was running. The meter makes a loud click every few seconds while running, but I don't hear it when the generator is running. This may not be suitable for use in quieter environments as the clicks will be quite distracting.
