Review on AIDA PROPOLIS 50 CALMING TONER by Tim Reimann

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good tonic, soothes and helps reduce redness but dries a bit.

Pleasantly soothing tonic. I like the idea of the foaming toner, it's less waste. However, it's really more foam than foam and it starts to thin almost immediately so it doesn't work as well as I expected. More important, however, is how the toner actually feels. Now that I'm getting older I've been dealing with very dry skin for a number of years and I don't feel like I'm winning the battle. I'm swapping out my light summer skincare regimen for heavier, richer products for the fall/winter season, so I'm always on the lookout for something new to try that works with my skin. Not only is my skin extremely dry and in need of something to replenish lipids, it also tends to dry out very easily, so I also need a good moisturizer. I've found that many products are good for one problem or the other, but not many for both. I also have sensitive skin and harsh skincare products cause redness and irritation, while overly heavy or oily products cause breakouts. I know - I should just give up now. It passes easily and absorbs quickly. It has a nice refreshing scent that doesn't last more than a minute or two. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy. I add another layer for extra moisture as recommended, but that's not really for me. In fact my skin seems a bit dry after using it, although I do add serum and cream afterwards which help to solve this problem. I really think this toner helps minimize some of the redness and roughness I get from just washing my face, even with a mild cleanser. I like the product so much that I continue to use it, but another toner from this brand seems to work better on my skin, so I won't be buying this one again. The toner arrived sealed and boxed, which is something that normally goes without saying, but I've received quite a few products that weren't sealed, so I'd like to mention that. It seems well formulated with good ingredients but it just doesn't work for me. The current price of $31.99 for just over 5 ounces seems a bit high to me.
