Product works exactly as I expected. Ideal for driving 2 active monitors directly via the DAC. The only thing was the speed of the volume control. Normally I only have to go from mute to high volume for the TV speakers to 20, but to turn my monitors to high volume I have to go all the way to 100, which took a long time. It could be the TCL 8 series I'm using and the lack of volume options but I have my monitors at max volume which I don't want and still need to go to 75 to hear normally. Otherwise, it's just what you need to control your powered speakers with your TV remote and save money on an AVR.
