later I bought a broken used ride for my son so I had trouble diagnosing the problem. In the end it was cheaper and easier for me to use this spare cable set to get it working than to buy separate parts and keep fiddling with it. I use it with a 6 volt battery that I converted to this dual motor setup. The original single motor had more torque and was slower than the "high speed" setting. These motors don't have a lot of torque, so they're only good for even coverage, otherwise they'll get stuck easily. I plan to switch to 12v later but we'll see how it holds up.
