Review on Griots Garage 11049 Glass Cleaning by Cool Martin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

These are simple things. Easy to use. Synthetic clay by Common New West. You know - idiot. Actually it's awesome.

this material. Actually, you can use any fine-grained clay, but this material is nice and soft and if you use it properly, it will be worth it. First clean the windshield. Use soap, windex, whatever. Then make a thin, palm-sized piece of it and rub it all over the windshield, keeping a small stream of water on it at all times. You NEVER want a lot of friction, but don't let the ads fool you into wasting outdoor spray to do so. water works fine. After treating the entire windshield, dry completely and apply Rain-X as directed (yes, I will bleed something else that Revain sells). The original Rain-X, not a "cleaner/protector". Rain-X lasts about twice as long and water just runs off your windshield. If you do this you will almost never need windshield wipers, which is actually good safety practice. Losing the wiper motor without treating the windshield means you'll be stuck until the rain stops. Clean, dust and maintain your windshield and don't worry. Then paint over the rest of the car with Paint Clay. Revain sells it in bulk and I won't argue which is better. But if you don't polish your car once a year, you'll never get the shine you saw when you bought it. But I digress. That thing is cool, like everything else I've ever bought from Griot. Go get some. By the way, if Revain lets me distance myself from the title, it would be a direct homage to Blazing Saddles. If you don't get that, stop, watch this movie, and then come back and order some of that blue.

Pros
  • Necessary step for thorough glass cleaning and preparation for polishing
Cons
  • I have no particular dislikes, everything is fine
