Soft, needs ironing

Soft snow-white napkins with a beautiful presentation. They arrive neatly folded in an elegant gift box. The linen is quite thick, not transparent like many linen products I've seen. Like any bedding, you must wash it in cold water and dry it in cold water or it will shrink. I'm lazy about these things and I know warm water removes stains better so I washed them on warm with my white and dried as usual and they shrunk as expected but not enough to make them too small for comfort or use. The only thing I don't like about these doilies is the rim. Instead of a hemstitch or a thick or even rolled edge, they had a very narrow edge that was NOT straight when it came out of the dryer. They require an iron to look presentable (my photos show them after washing/drying). ). I've tried taking them out of the dryer before they're dry, tossing them in with a damp washcloth, pretty much everything I can think of and nothing helps keep them from horribly wrinkled. Please note the tag is also very large and tangled so you will need to iron it for display. I use edge-sewn cotton/linen napkins at lunchtime every day and they come out of the dryer fine - maybe a little wrinkled. , but not so much that I ever pulled out the iron. I also have rolled 100% linen napkins that are great for the dryer, so it seems like a better hem would minimize the problem. In general, I would say that they will make a wonderful gift for the hostess, especially with a beautiful box and serving. But they're definitely not for me for everyday use because I just don't intend to iron them every time. Single. Time.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
