These are beautiful and unusual looking earrings but I was unaware of the ridiculous backs of the earrings used. The end of the earring shank is threaded and the back is a small gold ball with a tiny threaded hole. With bright light and patience you will find the hole in the ball and with a bit of luck you will be able to pick up the ball again with the hole in the correct position between your thumb and fingertip. I was able to wrap the ball back onto the post while holding the earring in my left hand, but after a few tries we couldn't get the ball back onto the post while the earring was in my wife's ear. Just a ridiculous, awkward design. My wife went through her jewelry and found a few signature clasps that matched the counter. My guess is that they slip off the threaded post unnoticed and she loses her earring. Bad design.
