Review on Mirror Mounting Brackets Holders Fitting by Matt Crawford

Not easy to install

I needed to install a 21" x 25" beveled mirror. It took six hangers: two on top, two on the bottom, and one on each side. The design is good but the build quality is average. Remarks1) Instructions are not included with the hangers.2) Each hanger consists of four parts. First you need to mark where the mirror and hangers will be. Aligning the hangers with pencil and tape proved tricky to get all six hangers lined up correctly. Finally, I placed the mirror on a piece of cardboard, arranged the hangers, and then stuck a drill through each screw hole to create a template. After installing the dry hangers, you need to screw them into place BUT don't forget to install the hex screw into the base of the hanger before screwing it to the anchor. Next, you should place a crescent-shaped piece of plastic in each hanger. It took me a while to figure out that in order for the plastic to be on the back of the mirror, the plastic had to be between the hanger and the mirror. The plastic serves to protect the mirror from direct contact with the metal base of the suspension. The fork should be in the recess in the bottom of the hanger. One annoying factor with these forks is that they are too big. All six pins didn't stay in the bracket, so I mounted a mirror. One of the others jumped out and landed on the white tiled floor. Try to find a clean piece of plastic on a white tile. fun lol If you leave the end caps and place the mirror on the edge of the bracket, you will need to screw the fairing onto the bracket. Be careful not to tighten the cover! Too tight and you could break the mirror. comments on the material; The Phillips screw is really cheap. You have to use a Philips 0 screwdriver or risk tearing off the head of the screw. Then you've failed to drive him to full depth or retreat. The head is unclothed. Plastic plugs are a pain. It would be better to cut plugs of the same size out of pressed cork and maybe add a slight sticky backing to hold the plug in place. Also remember that everything is metric so don't lose anything or it may not match. Much luck. It actually took me 3 hours of fiddling before I was able to install the mirror. Next time I suggest you glue the mirror in place. Easier, faster and cheaper. That's what the pros do.
