Review on Beats Solo Pro Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphones - Ivory (Renewed) by Phillip Hoover

First the sound. These Beats have the cleanest sound yet, but they have very little bass, so don't expect the typical bass-heavy sound that Beats have traditionally had. ANC is good too, a little "pinches in the cabin" but not much. I haven't tried the transparency mode yet. They're well made and have a metal headband, while the Standard Solo and other Beats have a plastic headband. This is also the reason for their biggest disadvantage as they are very narrow. They get a little uncomfortable after about 20 minutes, but not that bad. My ears hurt when I took them off after a few hours. The ear cushions are much firmer than previous headphones and are more comfortable. Even if you have a big head, they probably aren't for you. You don't have much customization. I have a medium sized head and need to be fully stretched to use them. I bought them for training so I bought refurbished ones. I think these are pretty good running headphones but even with the clamping force they have the headband still wants to fall forward when I look down to pick something up. I was pleasantly surprised that they looked and even smelled like new, and there was no dirt or grease left behind when I wiped them off with a lightly soaped rag. All in all I'd recommend these at half the price of $169 but I think I'll return them and get the standard solos. I wouldn't recommend them at full price of $300, just buy the studios at $350.
