Review on Sony DualSense Gamepad, Galactic Magenta by Adam Rymko ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, there are only minor drawbacks.

New functions and forms are notoriously difficult to imitate, making it nearly impossible to discover a fake. The analog sticks remain unchanged from the controller's original design (no axis binding, good positioning precision, low exterior dead zone, and a circulation error of less than 15 percent). In terms of performance and value, I find that no other controller comes close to the gamepad. You'll obtain low-quality sticks if you make only a modest profit. The Xbox and a few high-end controllers are the only ones with superior sticks, but they cost a fortune. I also recommend getting an 8bitdo adapter for your PC so you don't have to use an emulator and can get rid of the recirculation error completely. Switch it on and enjoy.

Pros
  • Quality. Updates include responsive triggers and tactile responses. The price is comparable to that of the controller at the time of purchase, and it is two and a half times cheaper than the Xbox equivalent. Simple to fix and readily available replacement components. Fantastic scope for aesthetic individualization.
Cons
  • Without an emulator, it is nearly impossible to play any games on a personal computer. The emulator won't let you use the game's new features the way they were meant to be used (you may change the trigger types, but it seems pointless to me). Using vibration, the battery can be discharged in as little as 4 hours. Adaptive triggers make the process even more rapid. There is only the controller itself and no cable. Not an easy thing to parse. There are a lot of delicate parts. Disassembly is not possible without the use of a soldering iron.
