Two ways to a dust-free barn!

They work great. However, you must be sure that you are working in a fairly dust-free environment. And most importantly, do it right the first time. I've found that trying to reposition any of them will inevitably generate enough static electricity to attract dust particles large enough to create bubbles. I want to emphasize the importance of planning ahead. It took me three tries to find the perfect fit. Here's what I found. . . 1. Try to do this in as dust-free an environment as possible. At home it would be nice to have a room that cats and dogs cannot enter. The bathroom would be my second choice. If you or your neighbors have just mowed your lawn, leave your windows closed for a while. 2. Turn off everything that disturbs the air (air conditioners and fans). 3. Bring the shield up and hold it by lifting the corner, peeling off the backing and pressing down on the corner to secure the shield in place. 4. Check the alignment again. Adjust if necessary. A particle of dust can stick to this corner. But is it good enough? 5. Carefully remove the protective film and attach the rest of the screen. 6. Use cardboard to squeeze out bubbles. Here's an alternative method that I haven't tried, but should work even better. . . 1. Wipe the scissors with a damp cloth to remove dust. Leave the scissors on the fabric to avoid more dust. 2. Peel off a corner of the foil large enough to serve as an anchor. 3. Cut off this corner of the foil. 4. Lift the open corner to align the screen. 5. After alignment, press to secure the screen in the correct position. 6. Pull the screen back just enough to remove the protective film. 7. Use cardboard to remove bubbles when you put the strainer back in place. You'd think I'd have a "little OCD" when I said that I spray a fine mist even when I'm working with the sprayer I have. for plant care. But it does two things: it removes dust from the air, and it also reduces static electricity build-up.
