Even with eight kids I've never had a diaper organizer but I'm glad I bought this one. With our current setup, I need diapers on my bedside table so I don't have to walk around the house in the middle of the night to change diapers. The diaper compartments are large enough to hold ten newborn size diapers upright plus a few more if I really want to, or eight size 5 diapers (I like to keep one size on each side). We already had warm towels back from a few children. It sits securely on top as a long piece of plastic sits in the groove and holds it in place. The plastic under the heating pad gets a little warm, but I wouldn't call it a fire hazard even with diapers and other dry materials leaning against it.
