It's not often that I spend so much time reading reviews but I just bought a new leather sofa and a few months ago I became the proud mother of a very expensive 2 month old kitten. With that said, I knew I had to purchase a solution to his desire to scratch my furniture before it was delivered. I have a couple of cat scratching posts that he uses a lot, but I've occasionally seen him try to use the corner of a fabric sofa. After reading many reviews I found these excellent clear adhesive screen protectors. This is my first time owning a cat so I wasn't sure what to expect and how much she scratches the skin. Although there are many alternatives to scratching agents, there is something appealing about them. These sheets are shipped FLAT which is very handy when you can put the protective sheet in the right place and then slowly remove the back cover. After I got it on and set it in place, I used a hardcover book to gently spread it over the area, making sure it didn't wrinkle and was glued firmly. The panels are made of fairly thick vinyl material, they are completely transparent and invisible, which is very important. My cat didn't even fit on the new leather sofa, so I didn't have to use her there. (Nevertheless!) I put protectors on the back and sides of my fabric chair, another spot he likes to sneak up on to stretch and lazily scratch. I watched as he tried to maneuver across the vinyl and looked at me with all sorts of bewilderment because it didn't satisfy him at all. The sheets had been on for 4 days and he couldn't even get to the chair! I would say this particular brand of tread is incredible value and worth every penny and I'm so glad they were ready and waiting. . They are not at all difficult to use and I would say almost anyone of any age can easily do them. They can be trimmed very easily to fit your exact size of the area you wish to cover. I ended up using one of the large sheets to cover the back of my chair which is positioned so that when you enter the room you can see the back of the chair and the protective sheeting is not visible at all unless you are actually there search for. This pack I bought contains 4 large protectors and 24 pivot pins. I didn't have to use needles but I see they would be very helpful and necessary if you have a stubborn cat that really wants to scratch. I would recommend using this brand of sheets over some others that are rolled up tight. I ended up sending the ones back in the tube because I just couldn't get them to lay flat. I will be buying a second set of this brand in case my cat decides to find another area to scratch. This brand is also available in other sizes and comes complete with catnip and an alternative scratching board for your kitty. This is definitely a 5 star product and I have already shared the brochure with my neighbor who said she couldn't believe how great they work. Would recommend to anyone who has a cat that loves to scratch!
