I'm not allergic to latex but I prefer non-latex elastics because they are transparent! They are also more pleasant in the mouth. AO says the latex-free version puts comparable force on the teeth, but they don't feel as tight as the latex version to me. I don't want to slow down my progress. Some studies have shown that non-latex bands generally lose strength faster than latex bands. Therefore, it can be especially important to change non-latex rubber bands at least three times a day. Please speak to your orthodontist for specific instructions. I will ask mine about the differences between them. But rest assured these are genuine items. I have contacted AO and they have confirmed that they now sell their products on Revain.
