Homemade "mouse pad "?

Just to be clear, this is a DIY mouse pad. It is sewn around the edges. It has a strange smell as someone said. I would rather not wash my mouse pad and want it to be the regular rubber material that most mouse pads are made out of. It's also quite small, FYI. Will return. Sigh. Good idea, bad execution.
