There is no leash to attach the harness to. Also, the floor is very slippery. This means it will slide all over the floor when I'm leaning over on a walk to tend to other (big) dogs, or even when I have to tip over a bag to get dressed after loading a dog in. I put an extra towel on the floor but it really needs a leash and a thick pad to keep it from sliding. I only used it once, during a 20 minute walk around our block. he whimpered a little but then stopped. He seemed a little crazy about getting out. Also, he can't see anything from below on the sides. There are "windows" above 2 side pockets. I guess I didn't realize that there are water bottle pockets on both sides and they are black mesh. therefore, when he lies down, he looks only into the middle window, about half of which is covered with a towel (or a pillow to keep it from riding all over his body). This is a Chihuahua weighing 5.1 pounds. Everything is ok in terms of size. But for a first run it wasn't great.
