I typically use copper wire for my trees, but wanted to try aluminum to see what the difference would be. This seemed thinner than the same gauge I get in copper (comparison wise I'd say it's more like a 26 gage in copper). The color is lovely, but if I'm going to use it for my trees then I'll have to double the wire to make it sturdy. I don't regret the purchase though because now I can tell students my experience with aluminum wire for this project. I did find that this was easier to over twist (and subsequently break) than copper wire. I've also used stainless steel wire and find that too tough for this project.
