At its core, this RJ45 patch panel plays a key role in any CAT6 structured cabling system for the small office/home office. The design is superior to the dedicated IDC flush panel as it is much easier to add additional ports after initial installation and/or maintain separate cable runs. But the Type 89D mounting base that comes with this panel is very weak, and the locking tabs that attach the base to the panel are too weak to hold them together securely. As a result, the patch panel continues to fall from the base and thus remains unsupported. I have decided to return this ICC panel and instead use a similar Leviton panel that uses a stronger mount.
