Review on πŸ”Š Philips Audio Dolby Atmos Performance Soundbar Speaker with Wireless Subwoofer - 3.1 Channel (Model TAPB603/37) by Andrea Young

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very clear center channel and overall good price

Replaces the existing Vizio 2.1 soundbar. The difference is amazing. Clear voices without having to overload the volume. The subwoofer is quite large, but I managed to put it next to the sofa and it got good SAF (Matrimonial Acceptance Factor) scores :-). Our 20ft ceilings are a bit high to allow ATMOS to be effective at lower volumes. I also had to move the soundbar forward from the TV to play the pitch-encoded sounds. It takes about 20 seconds for the soundbar to turn on via the ARC interface, so when I turn on my Samsung TV, it first plays sound through the TV speakers and then switches to the soundbar after the soundbar has finished charging. Sometimes that's a problem because when I turn down the volume on the TV, the soundbar doesn't know about it and turns on at the volume last used - sometimes too loud for late-night TV! Another flaw I noticed. When I interrupt the TV (Samsung) the soundbar turns itself off after a while (no input, power saving mode I think). When I resume TV streaming, the soundbar doesn't seem to connect, so I have to look for the Philips remote to turn it back on. So far I'm very happy with the performance and features for the price.
