I've been using this brush with an Arco razor for about a year now. Before this brush I used a boar brush until after some good use it fell off like crazy. This RazorRock brush has only lost a "hair" in a year and I expect to be using this brush for decades to come. I definitely think this is a quality and reliable brush. I usually lather my face and have used Arco soap directly on my face. Now I just have a small bar of soap in the bowl and fill the brush with soap before lathering my face. The brush lathers up great and I have no problem with that. The bristles do not retain water as they are artificial so there is no need to soak the brush before use. The bristles are definitely different from the boar brush. The best way I can describe it is that the bristles are stiff like a brush, but the tips of each bristle are soft as fur. This brush is comfortable for my face. Another note is that the boar brush I had had the bristles in need of cleaning as soap would collect on them. This brush does not have this problem. The handle is a good size so I have to put the brush on a stand where the bristles meet the handle. That's the only way it gets into my stand. That doesn't bother me at all. I would definitely buy this brush again but as reliable as it is I probably won't have to.
