Update June 21, 2020: We had our first accident in the middle of the night. We were dead tired, so we just changed into pajamas, put him to bed, and worried about the next day. The mattress was dry to the bone! The mattress protector did its job perfectly! I highly recommend this mattress topper. It works for us so far! Going from four to five stars. Original on May 24, 2020 I received this a few days ago. Put it in the wash and it looks like the water resistance is holding up well. The hand was initially very soft and it retained its softness after washing. There was no noise from the tread even after driving on it. I haven't spilled any liquids on it yet to test its effectiveness. I could experiment with a glass of water and see what happens. I'll update when I do.
