Judging by the photo on the box, I used two thumbs to tear off the ear pads on one side and fold the other. Then slowly peel off the remaining tape around the speaker. On the other hand, I had to pry it up a bit with the tool that came with it, then use my thumbs again and slowly peel the tape back off. I rubbed alcohol around each speaker and let it dry a bit. Then make a test alignment with the holes and pins as shown above, remove the red 3M tape and stick it in the same way and then press on all sides. The same on the other side. It looks perfect and I'm not a practical person so I was very happy with it! Time will tell how they hold up, but to me they look and feel the same as the original ear pads.
