Review on 🔬 Silicon Mold Making Rubber - Trial Size of Mold Star 20T by Amanda Castillo

I bought this to cast a 3D printed resin model. The model was cleaned and cured so there was nothing on its surface. Good things first: This material mixes easily and levels well in my mold when poured. Nothing special when it comes to filling the form. Very convenient. The Bad: I followed the instructions for the two-component mold on Smooth-On's YouTube channel exactly. I let the mold dry to its full thickness overnight, but when I got to the actual mold cavity, I noticed huge chunks of uncured resin. I swept cotton swabs all over the cavity and found a massive amount of uncured resin on 20 cotton swabs. before they become "clean". Even then, there was a sticky unhardened layer on the entire surface. I tried removing the mold with mineral spirits but it didn't work. I had to cast it once to clean it up, but at that point the geometry of the mold was removed. All in all, I cannot recommend this product. It won't hold its size if it has uncured resin on it.
