I mounted a fairly light monitor on the tripod. It worked well both vertically and horizontally. It was solid and there was no way the monitor would tip over. The only drawback is the tilting mechanism. The monitor can be tilted up or down. The problem is that the screw that goes through the mechanism to the nut on the other side has no way of protecting the monitor from falling other than by brute force. No lock washer, no toothed washer, no double screw. Flat painted metal only vs. flat painted metal. To keep the monitor from falling, I had to use the handle of a screwdriver and insert the included hex wrench, ask a friend to hold the monitor at the desired angle, and literally put 200 pounds of weight on the screw to get it out. firm enough to prevent the monitor from falling. Eventually I will modify this section by drilling a small hole in both pieces and using a locking pin to prevent slipping.
