We wanted something other than a cheap plastic oiler. This dish is well prepared and comes in a lovely cloth presentation bag which adds a level of quality. Keep in mind that the dish is ideal for shorter sticks of butter. You can cut longer sticks in half and place the two halves next to each other. We can buy shorter sticks here so this is perfect. The top is very slick and glossy so as others have noted it tends to pick up fingerprints but that's not a big deal. Note that the width (depth) of the tray is 4.85 inches, so this can be an issue if your oil fridge isn't too deep. We had no problems with that. Looks great and recommended.
