Usable dimensions are best for storage and organization
The 1/2 gallon size is ideal for many applications. Ziploc is used to make 1/2 gallon gusseted bags and is an ideal reusable replacement. They are flexible and thick enough but not too rigid to use. I have had no problems washing them, closing them and using them for several weeks after purchase. I use a half gallon primarily to store partially used open packages in the freezer (vegetables, fruit, etc.). My only wish is that they sell 6-8 in just a half gallon because they are so useful.
