I searched and searched and researched. I work from home - as many do now, but I always have. Also, I paint at the other end of my desk so I can spend a serious few hours in my chair at my desk. My problem is that I wanted comfort and good support as well as good aesthetics. The last work chair I bought was beautiful, but turned out to be a cleverly disguised instrument of torture. I received it quickly - it arrived just a few days after ordering, so it was a pleasant surprise. Of course, my husband is out of town when he arrives, but as a woman, I'm not a patient person. So my 11 year old and I - about 2 seconds after we brought it in - decided to try to put it together. I was concerned about this because this thing is quite heavy and a lot of reviews indicated that assembly isn't the easiest. However, I'm happy to report that assembling the desk chair seemed like a pretty standard issue to us - the only issue was that we originally installed the part upside down and had to fix it - but that's nothing to complain about would have to - what is just my cosmic self and my child "I'm not sure if he has ears" trying to work/argue together. Ah, finally the moment has come, it seems that all the pieces are in place and we are ready to try! ahhh so soft so comfy, the raise and lower mechanism works well and the wheels roll smoothly over my tile floors. Retractable rear support (that's the technical term!) in about 2 clicks is perfect. So far I am very happy with this chair.
