It is stainless steel, it seems that the case or the metal itself is strong, easy to wear, easy to put on and take off when needed. I placed this order on December 8th, 2018 right after my father passed away, today is December 25th and the letters are no longer black but silver. The only reason I'm not sending them back is because I'm already thinking about my father. when I see this bracelet and get emotionally attached to it 💔. The metal is engraved so you can hardly read what's written there but the letters don't have a nice black fill anymore, paint or something in the groves is disappearing from the letters, takes 2 weeks. 😣
