A little practice for great results

First a little about me - I'm a photographer who uses professional grade equipment for fitting and framing. I'm picky enough not to print an image of a lake or ocean if the horizon is off even half a degree without correction. I read all the reviews first and decided to give it a try. I took on a 75-card production project and wanted to try using my matting gear, but then I realized I had to look for something at Revain first. The feedback that the estimates weren't 100% accurate became apparent after trying a few sheets of paper. I wasted sheets of cheap blank paper until I figured out what lines to use and what adjustments to make to my design. The fragility of plain paper makes it difficult to draw a straight line, and the 80 pound cover I used was the smallest weight I could use for this scoreboard. After spending a few sheets of paper and familiarizing myself with my settings, I managed to dial my 75 cards in under an hour with no errors. I found that some of my cards weren't perfectly aligned, but that could be due to the paper I was using. When adjusting the left edge before cropping, I noticed that there were different squares. I was skeptical about buying a product that is essentially a plastic butter knife and fluted table, thinking the knife would eventually crack. It never happened. In the end I am very happy with this purchase. If you have to compete with Hallmark, you might have to shell out upwards of $20, but this should work for most people.

Pros
  • Cropping and measuring tools
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
