Review on MUXXN Women'S 1950S Scoop Neck Off Shoulder Sheath Formal Cocktail Dress For Special Occasions by Ricky Snyder

This pattern isn't available currently but I thought I'd share a review so folks could see the look of the dress.I bought this dress last year and only just wore it this holiday season. I'm 5'7", with 40DD bust, 35-ish waist, 45-50+ hip and thigh area, and the 2XL is an awesome fit. I added a petticoat, and normally I would wear it with a corset/cincher or some kind of smoothing garment underneath but I was planning to eat ;-)The good things: The pattern is great. the little velvet cats are really nicely printed, no scratched or "thin" ones, and the color is a great, vibrant teal-blue. The cut of the dress was very flattering on my plus sized figure esp with the minor amount of "give"/stretch (see cons for fabric thinness comments). Its a really great length if you like longer dresses (despite the angle of the photo, it went to about mid-calf on me; the petticoat is tea length). The dress also traveled fairly well on a hanger without too much wrinkling.The "eh" things: The fabric IS stretchy, and doesn't look "stretched out", BUT its also thin. I wouldn't have worn it without at least a petticoat and a smoothing bra (if you're a more petite size, you probably wouldn't have issues). But its also a $20 dress, so I would say its definitely worth it for that price (if it was a $50+ dress, I'd expect a lining). The collar also got floppy at times; this could be fixed with a few little stitches to make it stay in place. I'm average height and I think most people would find the dress a little long without heels.I would buy this dress again in other colors, though at the $19.99 price point.
