The coat itself works very well. It fully covers the stomach and chest, is waterproof and protects against the wind. It was snow here and about 15-20 degrees Fahrenheit and the dogs don't seem to freeze in this coat. You put it on/off like a sweater, but the material is less flexible, making it a bit more difficult to put on and take off. A hyperactive dog needs to go through some training and have access to quality treats to allow the dog to get used to the on/off process. My small dogs usually want to pull when they walk, but for some reason one does. I can't begin to explain what the psychology behind this is, but I love it. The problem with coats is the sizing they provide. Finally I understand why so little. The girth information they provide is actually the width at the end of the coat at the tail, not at the dog's "waist" just behind the legs, where girth is usually measured. I think we all can probably give the correct information. Here are the actual measurements for the two coats I purchased. The actual "waist" of the 16 inch coat is 22 inches and the length is 15 1/2. It fits my 23 lb dog. The coat is made in China. I wipe the outside with a cleaning cloth.
