I always recommend these to prevent hair from collecting in tubes. I have been in the plumbing industry for many years. The hair may eventually gather into a "braid" several feet long. Rough I know, but true. If you have a "long hair" family, be sure to place them in your shower drain. It's soft silicone like plastic so you won't jump on a foot if you step on it. After each bath, just take your finger and gently roll the hair that has fallen out on the screen into a ball and discard it. No sweat unless you're squeamish. And that's the only reason I gave four stars for the cleaning. Keep in mind that you still need to pour the gentle enzyme of your choice down the drain once a month to clear up the soap buildup. But it's an inexpensive hair blocking solution that DOES NOT require harsh caustics. Prevention is worth a pound of cure.
