Benefits: Thick, durable recycled material; metal fittings; flawless workmanship; smooth, grown-up appearance; and a lifetime warranty make this backpack a true purchase for life. Ergonomically curved shoulder straps and a thick, stretch-knit padded foam back make it surprisingly comfortable. It doesn't compare to a dedicated travel backpack with a frame, padded waist belt, chest strap, etc. for carrying extremely heavy loads, but it doesn't cause pain when commuting with a laptop and daily essentials. The bag itself also feels light. I love that the laptop bag is suspended well above the bottom of the backpack, making it less likely to hit your computer if you accidentally squeeze the bag harder than intended. Cons: I'm not a fan of the elasticated water bottle pocket. It's virtually invisible when not filled, but won't hold a wide-mouth Nalgene, although it can work with a 750ml CamlBak spout. Needless uncomfortable trying to grab the bottle while drinking and then switch while putting the bag on. At 19 inches deep, the main compartment could be something of a black hole. It holds a ton but it almost takes a flashlight to find anything underneath.
