Perfect fit, not perfect durability

On the one hand, this is the perfect shoe for my feet. There is absolutely no break-in period, wear them right out of the box and they are perfectly comfortable. I have arthritis and related issues in several joints and this shoe makes walking as comfortable as possible. It also easily adapts to an individual orthopedic insole. It has a wide, comfortable toe box but fits my narrower heel perfectly without chafing. I sometimes wear dressier shoes, albeit low heels, for a social event, but I always breathe a sigh of relief when I can wear Saucony again. On the other hand, I've always been frustrated with how quickly these shoes lose their shape and outsole stability. In fact, I never wore them until holes or tears appeared in the shoe, the epidermis stretched and lost its shape, and the heel wore out and they became uncomfortable. I've tried several other Saucony hiking shoes in different materials hoping to find one that fits better but lasts longer, but didn't find it as comfortable. However, I keep buying these shoes and always have a pair of black and a pair of white. They must be a popular popular model as Saucony has been selling the same model for a very long time, although there were some superficial changes to the design and name a few years ago. Also the price is reasonable compared to other high quality shoes.
