Very disappointed with this drive. I've used dozens of flash drives and this one is horribly unstable. When writing files, it runs fast enough, then slows down and even stops for a minute, two or three. Just stop. Then eventually accelerate again, only to slow down and/or stopβover and over again. It's on a good USB 3.0 port. After a new boot (Win 10 on a fast system with an SSD and lots of RAM) nothing works (even my antivirus was disabled) and the drive reformatted - tried the standard formats (FAT32) as well as NTFS formats. So what should have taken 5 minutes to burn to disk instead takes 30 minutes with all the pauses and stops. I've tried two other flash drives after (and in between - just to be sure) copying the same set of files and they both ran fairly quickly with no significant pauses so it's obvious that the problem is with that particular flash drive . Can it be a heat problem? Or just crappy fringe chips. I/O controller? Double check Task Manager to make sure no other process is consuming CPU cycles or exceeding RAM limits. It was pretty cheap ($8 for a 32GB USB 3.0 drive) but is inferior to an old USB 1.0 drive.
