Pleasant, subtle light. The battery pack slips out of the headband, there is no attachment of the battery pack where the headband secures it, it attaches through a loop in the headband and fits into the lock base - the problem is the lock won't snap, lol it slips out of the base easily . A simple poor engineering fix, I'll tape mine to the base and treat it as a disposable unit because at this point I'll never be able to change the batteries. But for $14, you get what you pay for, and what you get for what you pay for isn't bad at all.
