Over the past two years I have purchased about two dozen of these Atlantic Oskar media towers for my media library. They work well, are easy to assemble and better than most others I've found, but I did find a few small caveats that you might be concerned about. I had trouble separating the cardboard spines from the shelf. These backs add strength and stability to the shelf and are essential in creating a durable piece of furniture. The small nails that come in the package just aren't enough to drive nails into pressed panels. After leveling the unit, I drilled small holes and attached the back panels with #6 metal screws. It was easy and worked very well. I gained extra support by applying wood glue to the ends of each wooden dowel before inserting them into each hole during the assembly instructions. The result is a solid square piece of furniture that I think will last for quite a while. I don't know why, but don't expect the shelves to be the same size even if they have the same part number. They will be similar but not the same size. If you put several together, decide if you want top straight or bottom, you cannot have both. I chose the top and put gaskets under the bottom. Worse if you order them at different times and even worse if you order additional shelves a year later.3. Also, don't expect single shelves to line up with double shelves. Even if the dimensions are close, it's not enough to look good without trimming the boards with a table saw.4. The thickness of each adjustable shelf may vary from shelf to shelf depending on the batch. Thankfully I don't use all of my shelves and can move them around so they don't look so bad. In addition, the shelves in double cabinets are not as wide as in single cabinets. This makes for an inexpensive installation of some shelving, but if you want it to look professional I'd look for something better. Now that I've completed my project and know how many shelves I'll ultimately need, I plan on backordering 1 order for the same batch of better quality shelves and getting rid of all the mismatched parts I've accumulated over the last pair.
