I preferred the old model without creaking.

I bought this because I had a previous non-BT model and liked it. So far I don't like this version. Pros: - Rich sound - BT Cons: - Annoyingly loud on/off indicator - There's a blue light that flashes during use - Worst: There's an occasional grating sound that the speaker "adds on". to the music. This seems to happen more often when both the charger and accessory socket are used at the same time, a one-button operation common on many devices today. Power on: Press but not too long, otherwise you are in BT pairing, and not too short, otherwise it won't turn on; Power off: press very quickly, nothing else or if longer, BT pairing. Why can't a device just turn on when it's opened and off when it's closed and have a single, rarely used pairing button. It looks like the blinking blue light was added to fix an issue in the V1 model where you could just leave it on when you were done and drain the battery. Can't this thing turn itself off if there's no signal for say 60 seconds?

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
