I bought them to use in homemade lotions and balms. I haven't had time to use them yet, but I've checked out the containers. Looks good, no chips or scratches. Each glass is wrapped in a thin plastic film. The smaller size is wrapped in plastic and then stored in the larger size which is wrapped in plastic. Everything is then packed in a sturdy cardboard box; excellent size. Update: I use them for anything and everything. I like to take one with me to store loose change, stationery, earrings, hair ties. I made a foot lotion and a balm - both are almost solid, all the contents stayed in the containers. The screw on the lid is pretty secure. Again, all my containers are in perfect condition. These made me the most happy.
