I love it but be careful when washing.

This is it! I ordered several of these gaming mats to compare, sent the rest back but decided to keep these! I also ordered Play and Go with a roadmap theme, as well as Kicpot (a Chinese-made copy of a game and a game with an identical roadmap theme). Both were returned in favor of this winthome. (I also checked out these 2 articles if you're interested.) Pros: I love the concept. When I visit a family with my daughter, I bring different toys with me. I love being able to pack them all into one giant bag that doubles as a playmat and then being able to just pack them back up when we're ready to go home. I can even keep toys in my bag so I can take them with me next time. The street map design makes this playmat even more fun and open to imaginative play. The forest/road/city design is cute and the colors are not as overpowering as many other children's products. It is MUCH EASIER to tighten the drawstring on this model compared to other portable play mats I have tried. The key to keeping this product alive was the quick and easy function of the tip. Other products have ropes and eyelets, which was troublesome to pull them into a bag shape. Not this one! So easy and quick. I like that the lace runs through a channel around the outside of the mat instead of open ropes going in and out of the grommets. In my opinion less dangerous. I like that it has a grippy bottom that makes it more slip resistant. Better price than Play and Go. CONS: It's polyester, not cotton, but I don't care. . Play and Go was a very durable cotton canvas that felt more durable but less soft and was a pleasure to play on. It would be nice if this product had a handle to carry the bag when tightened. Difficult to carry on a long rope. I usually tie a knot to make things easier, but I'm thinking of sewing some fabric handles onto the back. Maybe I'm sewing a little inaccurately on the wrong side along the edge. But nothing I'm too worried about. Once you tighten the ropes and turn them into a bag, the exposed ropes get quite long and from my understanding can be considered dangerous for small children/kids. Just be careful with it. GENERAL INFORMATION: A thoughtful concept that allows you to quickly and easily assemble all the toys in the form of a bag. Ideal for transporting your child's toys to other places and giving him a nice little playground when you arrive. It's a keeper! ***UPDATE*** I just washed my playmat on a regular cold wash for the first time. The end of the cord was completely unwoven. Luckily there was a knot at the end so the cord didn't tear all the way. The end of the cord had to be sealed somehow (maybe with glue? I don't know). So it's still usable, but less attractive due to frayed cables. Just wanted to update this review to deduct a star and suggest a delicate wash or hand wash. I won't put this in the dryer so it lasts longer but it stinks so much I have to air dry it! I have emailed the seller about this issue but have not received a reply. Another star deducted for bad customer service!
