Years ago, Hallmark made mugs modeled after orange flower pots. They had a separate heat-retaining lid that also served as a saucer-like saucer that was placed under pots to prevent spills when watering. Well I bought a set of 4 of these caps but due to wear and tear and accidents I only have 1 left. Hallmark doesn't make them anymore and eBay listings are too expensive. But they looked very similar and the price was good so I bought a pair. Upon delivery I was disappointed with the size (14 ounces) and color (more orange) but decided to go with it. And I'm glad I did. They have more of a drink than what they replace. They are safe to use in the microwave. They work for the food (it fits a whole can of soup and I've already cooked a few egg dishes in it). They feel good in the hand (good balance and weight). I find them stronger, less brittle. I really liked them and will most likely buy another pair (they only sell by the piece). My only criticism is minimal and inconsequential: I wish they were less orange and more flower pot color, and I wish they had a cup. Lid"Saucer". Otherwise no complaints. I would recommend them. In fact, as Christmas approaches, one or more of these would make a great gift for your friend who loves gardening.
