Review on ๐Ÿ“ฆ Pelican 1510 Case With Customizable Padded Dividers in Black by Jackie Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An excellent bag for photographers, apart from a couple of design flaws.

Excellent hard case with some minor design issues. PRO: - Soft baffles protect camera gear quite well. - The hull is famous - Good Pelican design, will outlive the owner. - Wheels roll smoothly - Handles in two different positions allow for easy carrying or lifting - Foam cover and dividers are NOT glued and can be swapped out quickly and easily. Friction keeps them in place -Stainless steel reinforcement around locking tabs -Double latches open and close easily CONS: -The divider system has 2 custom sized dividers and a center pole. You may only use them for Pelican's intended use. Not enough spacers to protect many smaller lenses. Dividers have hook faces only and must be connected to a center pole, shelf, or interior walls. They cannot be linked together. (A major design improvement would be to make the dividers out of a soft material on the hinge side, allowing any divider to connect to any other surface, including other dividers.) The dividers most often come in a case and require user assembly before use. If the top foam is removed, for example to install a top organizer (Pelican part number 1515), the top will not be protected. (A thin layer of closed cell foam could be placed there to provide some minor protection.) - The pan/tow handle wobbles when deployed. - The suitcase is very heavy and even when empty may exceed your airline's carry-on allowance - The wheels and handle take up little interior space and the dividers do not fill these spaces. Make sure your device is not making contact there.
