This is the perfect bag for me! I'm a minimalist, so my only goal was to find a nice handbag that could hold a book and some of my essentials. Resizing worked as most hardcover books are 11 inches or smaller. I can fit any paperback size and almost any standard hardcover size into an inside pocket along with a small wallet, keys, ipod, phone, chewing gum and lip gloss and even my small camera. The pocket isn't very flexible so depending on the size of the book it can be squeezed tightly to fit my cell, but a book fits perfectly in the center section. Mission accomplished! BUT, if you're looking for a shoulder bag for work or school, you should definitely pick something that's a few inches larger on all sides and has plenty of depth to hold a few books or papers, along with some photos of the book bag for reference . It's also the perfect size for my 7 inch Kindle. This bag is very cute and I love carrying it! Looks like something out of Harry Potter :-)
