Review on πŸ” Black Lightweight Ankle Brace by McDavid by David Bott

Doesn't even deserve one star.

It was incredibly painful to wear! If anything, it did more harm than good! I am so angry that I wasted my time and money and now I am in pain because of this product. I use splints when my arthritis flares up to support joints that are sore and would otherwise be overworked and damaged that day. I have a similar style that is no longer made by ACE and was hoping to find a similar one for my other ankle so I can support both rather than picking the one that hurts the most. This one offers very little support to the actual ankle as it stays STOP right on it! This restricted my movement and thrown me off balance, forcing me to compensate by overworking my leg muscles. After a few hours my whole leg hurt like I was running the whole time! It has done very little to alleviate, if not worsen, the actual pain that has been in my legs for a long time. I would be better off with a soft ankle brace that actually supports my ankle without throwing me off balance. It's totally useless! He needs support under his foot, not just hard plastic. And all the padding is in the wrong place. I have huge heels so my ankles had to go higher than most people in this one, but the padding ends where the heels end - above the ankle! Either it's made for the completely wrong shoe size as they say or they had no idea how to design the xs. My foot isn't the size of someone who wears a 9 or more! From a 7.5 to 8 (slightly below the AVERAGE American women's shoe size of 8.5) I even fall into the majority of xs shoe sizes, but it was terribly designed for someone with "small" feet.

Pros
  • PREVENTS and ASSISTS RECOVERY from common ankle sprains
Cons
  • Not sure
