I was surprised, like a few others, that it worked great for me as soon as I plugged it in. I was skeptical considering the low price, small size, and low power consumption (powered via HDMI, doesn't require a separate source), but figured there was nothing to lose for such a price. Really works, sound and video, no glitches at all. I summarize my setup: - approx. 8m CAT-5e cable between two RJ-45 wallplates + two 1m Ethernet patch cables from TX Box to Wallplate and Wallplate to RX Box (i.e. with three cascaded CAT segments - 5e cable, only approx. 10m , works well); - HDMI splitter output to TX block, RX block to Optoma projector; - with 1080p resolution. My previous unit (bigger, hotter, more expensive, external power supplies) lasted about 2 years. and then stopped working - it got very hot, which no doubt contributed to its limited lifespan. Hopefully this one will last longer due to the lower power consumption.
