This card reader does what it's supposed to do and while I'd happily deduct stars because I have to work with it at home I can't because it does a lot good and hasn't let me down yet. The design is solid and when you install your certificates, it works flawlessly with government and military programs and websites. If you are a US Department of Defense civilian contractor or a member of the military who needs to use a CAC card reader, I highly recommend this model and I highly recommend contacting your communications department for assistance with any issues you may have. Luckily for me, I plugged it into my computer, recognized it immediately and downloaded the appropriate drivers, and once I updated my certificates, everything went very smoothly. The device itself has a fairly long cord and appears to be well built, it has a light that notifies you when your CAC card is in use. I like the design better than our regular external CAC readers. While I'm sure it won't break anytime soon due to its solid construction, I secretly hope it does so that I can relax at home again.
