These things are SMALL, 1" to 2" long, but perfect for little hands. It doesn't take long for a wind feather to travel a decent distance on a flat, hard surface. However, the springs are not strong enough to move up every slope. You won't even come across an almost flat sofa cushion as it's slightly convex, but on our hardwood floors a 2-3 inch setback will easily make it >8 feet. Some of the hinged parts come off fairly easily. So if you have a greedy toddler, this can be dangerous. In general we are satisfied with the purchase. There are so many of them that you won't get upset if a pair breaks or gets lost. Caution: Stepping on it hurts like hell. Beware if your child likes to leave toy mines behind.
