My cat was very fat. The kibble diet didn't help no matter how much I reduced her portions. She didn't lose weight even on the dry food prescribed by the vet. I decided to try wet food. I did some research on cat nutrition and found that the Wellness brand had a good overall reputation. Looking at a nutrition fact sheet comparing different brands and varieties, Wellness Core's grain-free indoor formula was one of the best in terms of nutritional needs. In 14 months I was able to reduce my cat's weight from 17lb 8oz to 13lb. I gave her 1/2 can of Wellness Core Grain Free and 1/3 cup of vet prescribed diet cat food. I weighed her daily with a baby scale (also ordered from Revain). Now I maintain her weight by continuing to eat 1/2 can of food but have increased her kibble intake to 1/2 cup. Two months with new cans and her weight is stable. I believe introducing Wellness Core Grain Free Indoor Wet Food into her diet was key to her weight loss. Please note that my cat wrinkled his nose at Wellness Core Grain. Free indoor dry food.
